Once payment has been completed, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire to help us understand your interests, requirements and expectations. We will review your information and respond with a personalised proposal within 48 hours.
Most tours start with a timetable. Magical Mystery Tours start with a person.
Before your visit, we ask you to tell us a little about yourself, the things that interest you, and the sort of experience you would like to have during your stay in Crete. We then use that information to create a unique day designed specifically for you.
Some guests are fascinated by history and archaeology. Others are drawn to hidden mountain villages, Byzantine churches, monasteries, wild flowers, medicinal herbs, photography, mythology, traditional food, local customs, or the natural beauty of the island. Some enjoy gentle walks, while others prefer to spend the day exploring by car. Many simply want to get away from the tourist crowds and discover a side of Crete that most visitors never see.
No two Magical Mystery Tours are ever exactly the same.
We never combine different bookings into larger groups. Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple, with friends or as a family, your day is designed exclusively for you.
Sometimes we know exactly where we are going. Sometimes the day evolves as new opportunities present themselves. A local festival, a shepherd gathering his flock, a hidden chapel left open, an invitation for coffee in a village kafeneio, or simply a road we have never explored before can all become part of the adventure.
That is precisely why we call them Magical Mystery Tours.
Creating a personalised day requires research, planning and preparation before you arrive.
For that reason we ask for a non-refundable registration fee of €25.00 when submitting your request.
Once we receive your information, we will review it and begin designing ideas for your day in Crete.
We do not charge a fixed fee for the day itself.
At the end of your Magical Mystery Tour, you decide what the experience was worth to you and pay accordingly.
We realise that this is unusual, we also believe it is fair.
The only requirement is that any expenses incurred during the day are covered by the customer.
This includes:
Fuel costs
Admission fees where applicable
Refreshments and meals
Any other expenses directly related to the day
We also ask that your Magical Crete companion is provided with food and drink during the tour.
Our philosophy is simple. We would rather concentrate on creating an unforgettable experience than spend the day watching the clock.
Some Magical Mystery Tours involve very little driving, while others may cover a considerable part of the island.
Either way, the car is to be provided by the customer. We strongly recommend adding your Magical Crete companion as a second driver on the rental agreement. Most car hire companies are happy to do this. Our people hold full Greek driving licences and know the local roads, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery rather than concentrate on unfamiliar mountain roads and village streets.
All participants are expected to have appropriate travel insurance covering normal holiday activities.
While we take every reasonable precaution and do not engage in unnecessarily risky activities, participation is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for accidents, injuries, illness, loss of personal belongings, vehicle damage, or any other unforeseen events that may occur during the day.
We expect our guests to exercise common sense and follow any reasonable instructions given by their Magical Crete companion. In return, we will do everything we can to ensure a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.
