The Magical Crete Walking App is designed for people who want to explore Crete on foot, at their own pace and without the uncertainty that often comes with finding routes in unfamiliar places.

Each walk has its own theme. Some focus on wild flowers and edible plants, others on remote Byzantine churches, local history or the natural landscape. The emphasis is always on discovery and understanding, rather than simply covering distance.

Every route is carefully mapped using dedicated satellite navigation equipment and is regularly checked and updated. Crete changes constantly. Tracks disappear, roads are altered and information found on standard maps is often outdated. Our aim is to ensure that every walk remains accurate, reliable and easy to follow.

Before setting out, you will find clear information about distance, terrain and level of difficulty. During the walk, a series of carefully positioned waypoints and photographs help you confirm that you are on the correct route.

The app is free to download and includes a selection of sample walks. Additional routes are available from our shop or free of charge through our membership programme. We aim to add six new walks every year.

An interactive map allows you to browse available walks across the island and quickly see what is available in each area. Detailed information is provided for every route, including distance, duration, terrain, elevation and level of difficulty.

Routes can be downloaded for offline use, making them available even in areas where mobile coverage is limited.
